Township Committee appointed Harold “Hal” English to the municipality’s governing body to serve Mike Cipriano’s unexpired term.

English, who resides in Town Centre, was the Township’s Director the Economic and Community Growth from 2017 to 2020. She has also served on the Planning Board and the Economy and Development Advisory Group (EDAC) in the past.

English most recently held the position of President and CEO of the Princeton Mercer Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

Apart from his extensive experience in local the banking sector,

Mr. English held positions as Director of Technological innovation and Economic Development, Business Administrator, and Acting Mayor of Hamilton. During his tenure, he significantly contributed to the establishment of the thriving Hamilton Marketplace, which occupies one million square feet about retail space on the Route 130 North.

English, who graduated from Boston College with a degree in economics,

is the author of the memoir “Behind Ivy Walls,” which describes his difficult and unhappy upbringing in Trenton.
